Hilton Surfers Paradise sold for $70m to Jerry Schwartz
Australia’s largest private hotel investor, Dr Jerry Schwartz, has made his first foray into Queensland hotel property with the $70 million purchase of the five-star Hilton Surfers Paradise from the Chinese group, Ja Feng.
After 30 years of ownership, Peter Ryan has sold The Rising Sun Hotel in a deal brokered by Ray White Asia Pacific director Andrew Jolliffe, who believes that the national hotel market continues to attract preferential asset class attention from a broad spectrum of investors.

Sheraton, Westin and Denarau Fiji hotel resorts sold for $280m
The Sheraton Fiji Resort, The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa and the Denarau Golf & Racquet Club have sold for FJD $280m (AUD $179m) to the Fiji National Provident Fund (FNPF) in a deal brokered by Rob Cross of CBRE Hotels.
The Motel Oasis complex which consists of 15 spacious units and a conference facility, all air-conditioned, very well appointed with quality chattels was sold by Brent Hannah of Resort Brokers New Zealand.
