Accor Pacific, Lutruwita/Tasmania’s largest hotel operator, once again be named an Official Accommodation Partner for Dark Mofo 2025.
After a year’s hiatus, the midwinter solstice festival returns 5–15 + 21 June 2025, with an ambitious program of art, performance, live music, feasting and more.
Dark Mofo showcases large scale public artworks in the Dark Park art hub and across Nipaluna/Hobart, along with annual rites such as the sprawling Night Mass parties, the bountiful Winter Feast, the cathartic Ogoh-Ogoh burning, and the cleansing Nude Solstice Swim—taking place on the shortest day of the year.
For two weeks, the festival will take over the city, commandeering deconsecrated churches, rooftops, basements, bars, bank vaults and the shores of River Derwent. Dark Mofo will also stretch its tentacles to a theatre in Launceston and the planetarium in Ulverstone.
As Dark Mofo's 2025 Official Accommodation Partner, Accor invites guests to explore Nipaluna/Hobart across two weeks of thrilling public art, live music, performances and plenty of nocturnal revelry.
Adrian Williams, Chief Operating Officer for Accor in the Pacific, said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to reunite with Dark Mofo as an Official Accommodation Partner for 2025. There’s nothing quite like the magic and mystery of midwinter in Tasmania - Dark Mofo electrifies Hobart with its bold, provocative programming and unforgettable experiences. It’s a celebration of art, culture, music and community that ignites the senses and captures imaginations. We can’t wait to welcome festivalgoers, artists and adventurers to our hotels across the city and help make their Dark Mofo stay truly memorable.”
Drew Berridge, Marketing and Business Director for DarkLab, said: “We’re delighted that Dark Mofo guests will once again get to experience Accor’s range of hotels as part of their festival visit and enjoy Nipaluna/Hobart in comfort during deepest darkest midwinter. Along with hosting our festival artists and performers, Accor has accommodation options to suit everyone’s budget, and we look forward to celebrating Dark Mofo together.”
Catering for every budget from luxury to economy, Accor has four hotels in Hobart and five hotels in Launceston, including brands such as Mövenpick, Peppers, The Sebel, Mantra, Mercure and ibis Styles.
