The rejuvenation of Tourism Accommodation Australia (TAA) is continuing, with the announcement of new multi-million dollar offices in the heart of Sydney’s CBD for the sector’s peak accommodation body.
The securing of the prestigious Penthouse at Culwala Chambers on Castlereagh Street follows just weeks after the appointment of respected Sydney tourism industry hotelier Michael Johnson as the next national and NSW head of TAA.
The Penthouse purchase is approximately 380 square metres and features a glass atrium, interconnecting terrace, full kitchen, bathroom and shower facilities, meeting areas, glass ceilings and city skyline views.
Acting TAA NSW CEO Dr Adele Lausberg said the new offices gave TAA its own identity in the heart of the Sydney CBD.
“Previously offices were shared with our partner organization, the Australian Hotels Association in Macquarie Street,” Dr Lausberg said.
“The purchase of the new premises in Castlereagh Street gives TAA its own space to service the accommodation sector.
“The deal, coinciding as it does with the appointment of Michael Johnson as the new national and NSW CEO, really does make it an exciting time for TAA and our members.
“It gives us a prime location in the heart of the CBD in the largest city in Australia to advocate on behalf of our membership – which has more than doubled in recent years.”
TAA NSW is expected to move into the new offices by late June 2019.
Mr Johnson – current general manager of PARKROYAL Parramatta – starts in his new position on Monday, 20 May 2019.
